Seattle Mariners: In his 300th career start, Jarrod Washburn pitched the game of his life. He was nearly perfect, giving up 1 hit and walking none in a complete game shutout of the Orioles. It was only his 4th shutout in 300 career starts. It helps keep the Mariners close (3.5 games behind Anaheim) at a critical time because the Angels are red-hot and Seattle is trying to hang on for dear life.

Giants: The Giants won 5-4 with the help of a Pablo Sandoval grand slam. Sandoval is a great story and is hitting .332 with 13 home runs. The Giants have been scoring more runs, even though they haven't been hitting many home runs.

They are still 2nd to last in the league in home runs, ahead of only the Mets (isn't that amazing?). If they start to hit, they won't be as desperate to trade too much for a power hitter. Their lineup is not scaring anyone, but it's working fine for right now.
